Ministers De Micheli and Gualtieri allocate 50 million euros for the infrastructure of the Ryder Cup 2022

The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Paola De Micheli and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Roberto Gualtieri, signed the interministerial decree MiT - MeF for the disbursement of funds to be allocated to the construction and maintenance of the infrastructural and connected road works to the sporting event of the Ryder Cup. This is 50 million euros to be used in the three-year period 2020/2022. The Ryder Cup is the most prestigious international golf competition that Italy will host from 30 September to 4 October 2022 in Guidonia Montecelio, in the province of Rome.

The resources allocated are the result of the agreement reached with the Lazio Region, as the implementing entity of the interventions necessary for the realization of the sporting event.

The works, already contained in the lists annexed to the decree, will concern the efficiency and adaptation of the existing infrastructures, the accessibility to the places that will host the sporting events and the territorial enhancement of the areas concerned. Among the planned interventions, that on the new junction road with an allocation of 7 million euros, the safety of extra-urban roundabouts and road sections as well as 13 million euros for the doubling of via Marco Simone and part of the SP Palombarese.

Overall, these are interventions which, together with the extraordinary maintenance of the local roads of the municipalities concerned, will significantly improve the quality of life of those who travel daily to the north-east quadrant of Rome and its province.
