MIPAAF: harvest operations begin

The harvest vademecum for the 2021-2022 campaign is online

The usual ICQRF harvest vademecum is online on the Mipaaf website, on the occasion of the beginning of the 2021-2022 harvest campaign, where all operators in the wine sector will be able to refer to the information relating to the main obligations for companies, reference standards and application provisions.

In this regard, the vademecum this year includes a special section dedicated to the accompanying documents accompanying the transport of wine products, since the EU and national regulations which, in particular, regulate the use of modern IT tools to protect the authenticity of the documents themselves and, consequently, the traceability of the productions.

The ICQRF, in this period of the year, will intensify the controls in the wine sector to prevent and contrast behaviors that do not comply with the provisions set up to protect the delicate phases of grape harvesting and handling, processing operations and the circulation of products and wine by-products obtained, an even more important activity in a context where the first signs of recovery appear after the imbalances caused by the emergency from COVID-19.

Italy, the world's leading wine producer, has made the electronic wine register operational since 2017, which has proved to be a fundamental tool not only for controls, but also for sector statistics (Cantina Italia), to the advantage of the entire supply chain.

The checks carried out by the ICQRF will be carried out throughout the national territory and particular attention will also be paid to products from abroad: particular emphasis will be placed on road, rail and port controls.
