MIPAAF: set up the national partnership table for the PSN

Towards the new national strategy for a sustainable and inclusive agricultural, food and forestry system

An innovative strategy, shared and efficient in the management of resources. The National Partnership Table met today for the construction of the National Strategic Plan (PSN) with the aim of tracing the path that will lead to the definition of the future Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023-2027.

The meeting, organized in an online event by the Mipaaf National Rural Network, in an exceptional location, the virtual and faithful reconstruction of the Agricultural Building, seat of the ministry, was opened by the Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies Stefano Patuanelli, and saw the participation of the presidents of the Agriculture Commissions of the Chamber and Senate and of the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, the Ministry for the South and Territorial Cohesion, Ecological Transition and Health, and all the main associations of sector, professional organizations, trade unions, the world of cooperation. The common goal is to start a shared path with the representatives of the productive, institutional and civil society world, in order to contribute together to the preparation of the new PSN.

“Today is a meeting from which to start and not a point of arrival. The challenge we face is a demanding, fascinating challenge for our country, which is to build an agricultural system that can draw a new face for the agriculture that we want in the next decade. An agriculture made of innovation and environmental, economic and social sustainability ”, declared the Minister of Agricultural and Forestry Policies, Stefano Patuanelli, who spoke at the opening of the table.

"Six are the main and strategic objectives of the PNRR which can then be divided into various sub-objectives: to enhance the competitiveness of companies and supply chains, to improve the climatic and environmental performance of production systems, to strengthen the resilience and vitality of rural areas, to promote quality agricultural and forestry work and strengthen the ability to activate exchanges of knowledge and innovations, and finally make the governance system more efficient, strengthening the administrative management structures at national and regional level and building a simple and adequate regulatory framework for new challenges and to new needs. We will have a path to take together which represents one of the challenges that this government has: that of strengthening the primary sector which in our country is of fundamental importance ”, concluded the Minister.

The COVID-19 emergency, which has highlighted some problems of rural territorial contexts, such as the lack of services and infrastructures, in particular with the accumulated delays for connectivity and new technologies, has however brought out in this difficult year the potential of rural areas, especially in terms of quality of life as an opportunity for rethinking and relaunching development.

During the meeting, Giuseppe Blasi, Head of DIPEISR Department, who illustrated the National Partnership Table for the new CAP 2023-2027, Simona Angelini, Managing Authority of the national rural network and Alessandro Monteleone, of the national rural network, intervened.

The last part of the day was dedicated to the contributions of the institutional, economic and social partnership, with the involvement of the associative and economic entities that represent the stakeholders of the agricultural sector.
