Long-range missiles and cluster bombs, American promises to Kiev to win the war

“We will not give up” in support for Ukraine, “Vladimir Putin made a wrong bet, namely that support for Kiev would end. We will defend freedom today, tomorrow and for as long as it takes".

This is because the idea that the United States can “to prosper without a secure Europe is not reasonable“, said Biden at the entrance to the University of Vilnius in Lithuania on the sidelines of the work of the NATO summit. “We must unite to protect rights and freedoms”, Biden reiterated.

Shortly before his speech at the university, Biden also met with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, saying of the meeting: “meaningful and strong"

Zelensky spoke of the dialogue he had with Biden on the "situation on the front line", but also about "further long-term cooperation on defense" and "Russia's internal processes in the light of recent events". The Ukrainian president said he "greatly appreciate” that "the United States has stood by Ukraine throughout our defense against aggression”.

For this reason, he “personally” thanked President Biden, Congress and the American people”for vital assistance - military, financial, political – supplied to Ukraine since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Russia”.

"All allies agree that Ukraine will one day be in NATO. Zelensky and I talked about the guarantees we can give in the meantime, and I thank the G7 leaders for the security guarantees: we will help Ukraine build a strong defense so that it is a source of stability in the region. This is a powerful statement for Ukraine“, also underlined then the US president Joe Biden presenting the security guarantees of the G7 with all the leaders present, including the EU leaders.

Moscow's reaction was harsh: “The security guarantees offered by the G7 countries to Ukraine violate Russia's security”, commented Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov.

To continue the conflict in Ukraine in the sense desired by the G7, the US has started sending the disputed cluster bombs capable of routing Moscow's troops from the occupied territories, also assessing the risk that they cause to the detriment of the civilians. We recall that once launched, cluster bombs scatter other mini bombs over vast areas that burrow into the ground, remaining there for a long time, thus amplifying the danger in an imperishable way.

On long-range missiles over 300 km, France has said it is available while the United States is evaluating the possibility.

Joe Biden will evaluate the hypothesis of give Ukraine longer-range missiles compared to those sent so far. The US president himself said so to journalists after his speech at the University of Vilnius.

Moscow responded to the news of long-range missiles that the West is irreversibly returning to the times of the Cold War.
