The CIPE resolution was registered by the Court of Auditors with the updating of the financial plans relating to the motorway concession companies A33 Asti - Cuneo and A4 Turin - Milan, a decisive step for the signing of the agreement and the start of the works to complete the motorway section Asti-Cuneo.

"The registration of the deed allows the resumption of the construction site of a work blocked for too many years and strongly desired by the territory, a strategic infrastructure not only for Piedmont but for the whole North West. And its realization will take place according to public interest criteria. During my visit to Asti I had represented to the mayors and local institutions the administrative complexity that we strongly wanted to overcome. We succeeded and now I will return for the definitive reopening of the site”- is the comment of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Paola De Micheli.

The unlocked works will ensure the direct connection between Bra and Asti, joining the sections already completed on both fronts. An expense of 4 million euros is foreseen for the completion of the work, to be carried out within the next 350 years.

In the past months, MIT has initiated an intense dialogue with local administrations and the subjects involved which has allowed the adoption of a model fully consistent with national and EU legislation.

The resolution that obtained the green light of the Court of Auditors provides that in 2026, upon expiry of the concession relating to the A4 motorway section (Turin-Milan), the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport jointly entrusts the two sections (A33 and A4), while starting the unitary management only upon expiry, at the end of 2031, of the old management of the Asti-Cuneo concession.
