MIT signed memorandum of understanding for safety and workers' rights

The Memorandum of Understanding with the Italian Railway Network (FS Italiane Group) and the National Secretariats of the Trade Union Organizations FENEAL UIL, FILCA CISL, FILLEA CGIL for the protection of workers' rights and safety signed today by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Paola De Micheli.

The document, signed at the MIT, is aimed at the entire chain of the companies entrusted with the works that will be engaged in the construction of works on behalf of RFI.

The signing of the Protocol confirms the commitment of the Minister and the signatories to guaranteeing the public interest in legality and transparency, identifying a shared method based on information and comparison between the Client and the National Secretariats.

The agreement provides for the convening of periodic meetings, aimed at overcoming any critical issues in terms of workers' rights, safety, accident prevention, production continuity of the construction site and compliance with the time schedule for carrying out the work. Furthermore, the obligations of the contractor for the protection of workers will be identified from the first design phases, and will then be defined in the subsequent definitive design phase and consolidated in the Safety and Coordination Plan based on the tender.

RFI will insert clauses in the contracts and in the tender specifications to protect workers, which will allow them to benefit from the economic and regulatory treatment established by the National Collective Labor Agreement signed by the main trade union organizations.

It is necessary to promote a real culture of security and legality against any risk of criminal infiltration, ”said Minister Paola De Micheli.
