Minister De Micheli explained that she wanted to quickly deal with the issue of the full recovery of air transport in the post-health emergency scenario, through the convening of a special table with ENAC and the national airlines active in connections with Sicily, to define a flight planning able to satisfy the recovery of the demand for mobility in the main airports and with the smaller islands.

Minister Provenzano has raised the need to address the various infrastructural urgencies in Sicily on a strategic level, with a clear assumption of responsibility by all levels of government, in the spirit of loyal institutional collaboration, the fruits of which must be tangible on the improvement of the mobility of Sicilians, also to counter the effects of the economic and social crisis that threatens to hit the island.
Minister De Micheli recalled MIT's recent allocations to the Provinces for the redevelopment of the relevant road network and asked the representatives of the Sicily Region to send a list with the priority works and the related costs: the goal is to find the resources necessary to give coverage of a first substantial tranche of interventions to be implemented.
On the subject of railway infrastructures, the Minister recalled, in addition to the construction in progress of the Catania-Messina-Palermo, also the project of the high-speed network ring included among those to be financed through the European plan of the Recovery fund.
For all the remaining programming relating to Sicilian infrastructures, a permanent table will be set up with the regional institutions, Rfi, Anas and the Consortium for Sicilian Highways.
