On display at UNESCO, 36 exceptional artwork recovered by the Carabinieri Guard Italian Cultural Heritage Protection

From 2 to 12 May 2017, UNESCO will host the exhibition "Salvaged Treasures", organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Carabinieri Command for Cultural Heritage (TPC). On display 36 exceptional works of art, ancient and modern, stolen or illegally exported and recovered by the TPC Carabinieri Command. The event, which will be inaugurated today, May 2, by the Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Hon.Dario Franceschini and the Deputy Commander General of the Carabinieri, Corps General Vincenzo Coppola, constitutes a unique opportunity to admire the diversity and richness of the Italian cultural heritage and present the work of the Carabinieri to the staff and Permanent Delegations of UNESCO, to members of the international community and to the general public. The itinerary of the exhibition allows visitors to learn about the way in which the works were recovered, the circumstances of the theft, illicit exports and illegal excavations, as well as the history of the Carabinieri TPC Carabinieri Command, operational details and general traffic data. illicit of works of art in Italy.
