The solemn ceremony of the oath of the students of the 230 ° Course of the Military School "Nunziatella" took place today in Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples.
The solemn act was emphasized by the presence of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, the Minister of Defense, Senator Roberta Pinotti, the Councilor of the President of the Republic and Secretary of the Supreme Defense Council, General Rolando Mosca Moschini, the Chief of Staff of Defense, General Claudio Graziano, of the Army Chief of Staff, General of the Army Corps Danilo Errico and of the Commander for Training, Specialization and Doctrine of the Army, General of the Army Corps Pietro Serino.
The presence of the highest authority of the state, both of the civil and military world, underlined the importance of the step that the ninety young students, of whom twenty-one women, have accomplished.
The oath of allegiance to the Italian Republic, with the traditional formula "I swear!", Will remain a reminder and indelible engagement in their lives, renewing and witnessing the sacred values that characterize the Army Military School. Citizens who have always distinguished themselves by the spirit of abnegation, sense of duty and sense of sacrifice, which have led today and in the past every soldier to sacrifice the supreme good of life in the name of the homeland.
During his speech, Chief of Staff of the Army, Armed Forces General Danilo ERRICO, addressing the students said, "are the moral qualities combined with a cultural education of excellence and forged in the discipline and military rigor of this ancient school of the Army, which creates a community of students and "former students", prominent citizens, successful soldiers, rather than established businessmen or professionals, united to each other by a strong and indissoluble bond. "
The highlight of the Ceremony was the symbolic delivery of the sword to a First Year student by a third year student; the sword, emblem belonging to the Military School "Nunziatella", represents the important passage of deliveries, traditions and values that are passed down to the new generations.
The unique frame of the event was the monumental Piazza del Plebiscito, packed by family members, relatives and ex-students, who came for the occasion from all over Italy to attend the ceremony, thus marking the solemnity of the moment and accompanying, ideally almost by hand, the students at this time of growth.
The large presence of "ex-students", who also took part in the deployment, represented an ideal passage of deliveries between those who were at the time Pupil and who are about to become a young member of the great family of "Nunziatella ".
The oath saw the deployment of wardrobes in historical uniform, the parade of the Labari of Combatting and Arma Associations, the surrender of the honors to the Gonfaloni of the City of Naples, decorated with a Gold Medal for Military Valor, of the Campania Region , of the Metropolitan City of Naples and in particular of the glorious Institute Flag, decorated with the Bronze Medal of Army Value.
The Regiment of formation, as established, under the orders of the Commander of the Military School "Nunziatella", Colonnello Fabio Aceto, saw among its ranks the Band of the Granatieri di Sardegna Brigade and the Drum Drums of the School.
The ceremony ended with the parade parade of the training regiment and numerous ex-students arrived from all regions of Italy.
