#NoiSiamoLeScuole this week talks about three Apulian institutes

In Bari the "Marco Polo", dedicated to innovation, with Future Labs and high-tech laboratories, attentive to the territory and the well-being of students; in Barletta the “Archimede” professional institute, which prepares for the professions of the present and the future; in Parabita (LE), the reconstruction project of a school that wants to become the new pole of the arts of Southern Salento

On the channels of the #NoiSiamoLeScuole project of the Ministry of Education and Merit this week realities and future perspectives are told, thanks to the PNRR, of three Apulian schools

The school can no longer be only that of notions, but must be a training ground for skills: this conviction guides the activities of the "Marco Polo" Linguistic and Economic Technical High School of Bari, which is characterized as a school devoted to innovation, through the projects activated so far (including being among the 26 national Future labs) and those in the pipeline thanks to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). "Kids ask us above all for spaces for interaction, for co-planning - says Rosa Scarcia, Headmaster in the video -, in which they themselves are protagonists of the activities and the teacher becomes a facilitator".

The challenge of innovation follows two dimensions: time and space. A relaxed time, with the institute open until 19.30, to also promote an independent organization of the study, and the space intended as an innovative educational environment functional to learning and motivating young people, but also designed for the well-being of male and female students. The institute has numerous laboratories, artistic and scientific, of high technology, experimentation and didactic research where you can deal with augmented reality, coding and robotics. The PNRR will give a further innovative stimulus, as the manager explains, and will allow the creation of three new laboratories: digital economy, video communications and virtual reality.

The professional institute "Archimede" of Barletta offers many fields of study: from industry to craftsmanship, from fashion and production of tailored textiles to electronics, from mechanics to optics. The primary objective is to prepare students for the job market, through theory, but also practice, in equipped laboratories that reproduce the exact conditions that graduates will encounter in companies. "The graduates of this school - says Anna Ventafridda, Headmaster - have the certainty of entering the world of work". To obtain this result, the Institute has decided to invest the funds made available by measure 4.0 of the PNRR to keep the professional equipment of the main laboratories up-to-date: fashion, mechanics, electrical systems and home automation.

The school also focuses heavily on the care of male and female students, given its location in a difficult area, with a high risk of dispersion. Thanks in particular to European funds - until now PON, now also PNRR, with reference to the investment for overcoming the gaps - projects have been and will be activated for the recovery of basic skills, laboratory courses that re-motivate students and individual orientation courses .

The students' request was that all learning environments allow for innovation, greater collaboration and the enhancement of all activities and countless projects, "because our school is above all this". This is how a student tells us about the expectation for the total renovation of the "Enrico Giannelli" Institute in Parabita (LE), which will be achieved thanks to the specific investment line of the PNRR, intended to build new schools through building replacement.

“We wanted to invest – says Stefano Minerva, President of the Province of Lecce in the video – in a school that expresses the deepest meaning of education, that is, that of taking talented kids who believe in the training process to help them find a place in the world". The project includes innovative classrooms, artistic and technical-scientific laboratories, a theater with at least 500 seats, a semi-Olympic swimming pool and a gym, explains Cosimo Preite, Headmaster. The students participated in the entire process of preparing the papers useful for the candidacy, aspiring to a structural avant-garde that links all the training courses together. Thus, the project aims to build the Polo delle arti del Sud Salento. "The European Union and the Ministry - comments the Headmaster - are giving an opportunity not only to the school, but to the whole territory".
