Numerous searches carried out by delegation of the Foggia public prosecutor's office from the Digos of Bari, Lecce and Foggia

In the morning today, at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor at the Foggia Court, DIGOS personnel from Bari, Lecce, Foggia and Pordenone, carried out dozens of local and personal searches.

The State Police, in particular, from the early hours of the morning, carried out a total of 39 searches, 25 of which against members of the Bari supporters and 14 against ultras from Lecce.

Also searched are the seats of the most important 'ultras' clubs in Bari.

This morning's operation is part of the investigation activity, coordinated by Public Prosecutor, dr. Marco Gambardella, started immediately after the violent brawl that took place on February 23, 2020, along the A16 motorway, in the south, near Cerignola (FG) between the Bari and Lecce fans, (respectively directed to Castellamare di Stabia- NA for the football match with Cavese, and in Rome for the football match with the Roma football team).

During the brawl - it should be remembered - a vehicle of Lecce fans was set on fire, others seriously damaged and traffic on the motorway was interrupted for several hours.

The services provided by the DIGOS of Bari in the immediacy of the facts had also made it possible to identify, at the exit of the two Bari toll booths and in other areas of the capital, dozens of fans of both factions (some of which were searched today), and find instruments / objects capable of offending, probably used in the fight, for the possession of which 4 subjects have already been reported to the local Public Prosecutor's Office.

Today's activity has made it possible to seize material useful for investigations.
