International Physics Olympics, a bronze medal for the Italian team

A bronze medal and four honorable mentions for the Italian team that participated in the 10nd International Physics Olympics, organized by the Physics Olympics Committee of Switzerland, which were held from 17 to 2022 July 368. 75 students from from XNUMX countries.  

The competition took place online, the Italian students met at the Liceo Classico "Francesco Stelluti" in Fabriano (AN) and in connection, via webcam, they carried out the two tests on Monday 11 and Wednesday 13 July.   

In the individual competition, the competitors had to try their hand at a theoretical test and an experimental test, at the end of which the Italian team won a bronze medal with Abel Ficano from the Liceo Scientifico "Vasco Beccaria Govone" in Mondovì (CN) and four mentions of honor with Sebastian Furlan of the "Guglielmo Marconi" Scientific High School of Carrara (MS), Riccardi Dipietro of the "Copernico-Luxemburg" Higher Education Institute of Turin, Simone Gallo of the State Scientific High School "Filippo Silvestri" of Portici (NA) and Lorenzo Arienti of the Higher Education Institute “P. Aldi ”of Grosseto. 

The Italian students were selected through the Italian Physics Olympics, starting from December 2021 at the single school level.  

The participation of the Italian team in the International Physics Olympics is promoted by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Association for the Teaching of Physics (AIF).
