PyeongChang Winter Olympics: the first North Korean athletes arrived in South Korea

Several Northwest ice hockey players have arrived today in South Korea to join South Korean colleagues in the joint team that will participate in next winter's Olympic Games.

According to the Ministry of Unification, the athletes crossed the border at the Kaesong industrial zone, together with a sports delegation charged with preparing the arrival of other North Korean athletes before the start of the Pyeongchang games scheduled for the 9 February.

North Korea will parade at the opening ceremony with South Korean athletes as the only sports delegation. It would not be the first time, the two Koreas, in the past, in fact, have marched together during the Olympic Games in Sydney in the 2000, Athens in the 2004 and Turin in the 2006.
