Palazzo BN transformed into the home of the dance arts of the Factor Hill Collective

Alessandra Gaeta marries the new concept of the old Banco di Napoli headquarters in Lecce

If an art like dance is an expression of beauty and elegance, it could only be among the protagonists of the event held at Palazzo BN, a luxury townhouse in the center of Lecce, the spokesperson for a real lifestyle, on 14 April. “Actions for four Corps” is the title of the performance, produced and presented by the Factor Hill artistic collective within the prestigious location on the occasion of the Lunch Party which presented the new concept of the building. Opened in 2020 in the historic Banco di Napoli headquarters, the exclusive Palazzo BN, which today bears witness to a far-reaching architectural project, three years after its inauguration becomes a home of the arts, well-being and comfort.

<<As the founder and director of Factor Hill, I was approached by Push Studio and we were commissioned to perform Actions for Four>>, says Alessandra Gaeta, < It was exciting, an opportunity to pursue one of the main objectives of the collective, namely the horizontal sharing of dance among the people even in a context such as that of a prestigious inauguration with precise parameters of elegance. It was, therefore, an honor to be consulted and to have shared this space together with three other dancers, such as Francesca Bovino and Barbara Mazzetta of Bachi da Setola di Polignano and Mariachiara Vitti. With the latter we have continued to weave the complex geography of the collective which is expanding more and more towards other possibilities, starting to inhabit the fabric of the region for new events and places. We are experiencing a moment of regeneration and rethinking of what our territory is. For us at Factor Hill it is very important to give an impression of contemporaneity and listening to the body even in such elegant and luxurious contexts.

The four performers in the prestigious setting of the historic building in the center of Lecce thus gave life to suggestions coming from images and works belonging to a pictorial imagination, with particular attention to the art of Tamara De Lempicka and Jack Vettriano. The idea was to pay homage to the location and to help create four different moments, precisely defined as 'Actions for Four Bodies'. Four moments of the evening and, therefore, four dances that involved the performers, all articulated between employees, gears, people, meetings. Four actions lasting about 10 minutes each, with an interval of as many 5/10 minutes between one and the other, allowed all passers-by, participants in the event, to take advantage of them.
