The compliant victims, as emerged from the investigations of the State Police, were recruited by the members of the organizations in places frequented by subjects on the margins of society. They were therefore identified as congenial for the purposes of drug-dependent criminal groups, people with mental deficits or those suffering from alcohol dependence, and with great economic difficulties, attracted by the promises of easy and conspicuous earnings, never paid by the criminal organization. Beyond 50 the victims who, with their stories full of despair, allowed to validate the accusatory picture against the members of the criminal association.
The details of the operation will be announced during a press conference to be held at 11 at the Palermo Police Headquarters.
