«I had the honor of corresponding with Paola Del Din about twenty years ago, when I read her exploits written by one of the most authoritative SOE experts, Marcus Binney in the book "The women who lived for danger", unfortunately never translated into Italy. Now Paola turns one hundred years old, and it's a hundred years of memories and glory.
Paola belongs to that group of heroines like Violette Szabo, Noor Inayath Kan and many other girls who risked imprisonment, torture and life for having parachuted behind lines controlled by the Gestapo. In her long existence she has fought all sorts of dictatorships, right and left. We can only bow with extreme reverence to this heroine who strenuously defended, even amid factious controversies, the authentic values of patriotism and freedom".
