This morning at the Palazzo Esercito in Rome, the Undersecretary of State for Defense Matteo Perego di Cremnago opened the meeting of the Deputy Chiefs of Defense of the Countries adhering to the South-Eastern Europe Defense Ministerial (SEDM) with his introductory greeting.

"Italy is the protagonist of three important projects in the SEDM area" said the Undersecretary in his speech "the first aimed at enhancing the role of female personnel in the Security and Defense sector The second aimed at creating an international medical community among military hospitals and the medical facilities that offer support to the military personnel of South-Eastern Europe and the third to share information within the Initiative in order to be aware of the evolution of the project with a view to the possible participation of the political Authority in the ministerial meeting annual SEDM".

"This is a privileged forum for peace, security and stability” concluded Perego “I look forward to an increasingly credible role for the SEDM process as a relevant player in the region that can offer a valuable and privileged opportunity to share our core defense and security concerns and contribute to their understanding"
