Geneva, 28 May 2018 - Piaggio Aerospace, an aeronautical company among the leaders in the business aviation and defense and security market, today illustrated its growth strategy outlined in the five-year industrial plan at EBACE (European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition), and announced increasing orders for the Avanti EVO.

"We have registered 4 new orders for the Avanti EVO in the early months of the 2018, and the acceleration of sales continues," said Renato Vaghi, CEO of Piaggio Aerospace, during a press conference. "In the 2018 we also celebrate our first centenary in aviation, focusing on our history of excellence to look forward to our next 100 years," added Vaghi.

The business plan lays the foundations for long-term stability: strengthened by a financial restructuring that included a shareholder liquid injection of 255 million euros, Piaggio Aerospace focuses on aircraft putting them at the center of the business program aviation, to reach the break-even in the 2019 and useful in the 2021.

The new route is already showing excellent results: with 20 aircraft currently in production, including 12 Avanti EVO, Piaggio Aerospace has already received orders for 4 Avanti EVO in the first quarter and plans to deliver 8 by the end of the year. The main objectives are to achieve a better positioning of the Avanti EVO at a global level, to relaunch the aircraft in the Special Mission configuration and to further invest in Customer Service to support the global fleet.

Looking to the origins, from which the deep-rooted innovative and creative culture takes inspiration, Piaggio Aerospace is today synonymous with excellence in performance and design. 1918 represents the most significant stage for the corporate identity: despite the foundation by Rinaldo Piaggio dates back to 1884 - when the company's activity was dedicated to the production of naval furnishings and rolling stock for the railway sector - it is in the November 1917 that the company entered the aeronautical sector, with the takeover of Officine Aeronautiche Francesco Oneto, of Pisa, incorporated in January 1918.

Piaggio Aerospace is pleased to celebrate its first centenary in aviation at EBACE 2018 and will announce further initiatives in the second half of the year.
