National registry platform

Green light to direct access to the judicial offices

Direct access for all judicial offices to the national registry platform. The agreement stipulated between the Ministry of Justice and that of the Interior provides for this. Prosecutors and judicial offices will be able to access the platform of the national registry of the resident population, allowing the judicial offices to obtain in real time and in full autonomy, the personal data necessary for the performance of judicial functions.

The initiative contributes, at no cost, to the commitment launched in several directions to reduce the time required for criminal and civil proceedings: with direct access to the platform of the national registry of the resident population, in fact, the need for the judicial offices to speak with the individual municipalities to request the necessary data. It is estimated that the time will be reduced from three to 15 days for each single procedure.

The service, which started at the end of August initially for the prosecuting offices only, was activated by the Ministry of Justice (Department for Justice Affairs, Directorate General for automated information services) in synergy with the Ministry of the Interior.
