Plenitude, an Eni subsidiary that integrates production from renewables, the sale of energy services and a vast network of charging points for electric vehicles, today inaugurated the 104,5 MW Spanish El Monte wind farm, in the Castile-La region. Mancha, in the presence of representatives of ministerial, regional, provincial and local institutions.

The park was created in collaboration with Azora Capital, Plenitude's strategic partner in Spain in the development of projects in the field of renewable energy, both wind and photovoltaic.

Today El Monte is fully operational: energy is generated by 19 GE Cypress 158 model wind turbines (5,5 MW), among the largest installed in Spain. The plant will produce around 300 GWh per year, equivalent to the domestic consumption of 100.000 families (considering an average consumption of 3.000 KW / h per family), and will allow Plenitude to increase the capacity to produce energy from renewable sources in Spain.

The project also contributed to the creation of direct and indirect jobs at the local level.

Stefano Goberti, CEO of Plenitude, declared: "The El Monte wind farm will contribute to the progressive decarbonisation of the electricity sector in Spain, to the energy transition path undertaken by Eni, to Plenitude's ambitious goals of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040 and to provide 100% decarbonised energy to all its customers. The development of the wind and photovoltaic sectors is fundamental to Plenitude's growth strategy, which aims to reach over 2 GW of installed capacity from renewable sources by the end of 2022, over 6 GW by 2025 and over 15 GW by 2030 " .

Plenitude is also present in Spain in the market for the sale of electricity, gas and services to residential customers and large, small and medium-sized enterprises.
