Head of the n'drina of Rizziconi, a fugitive from the 2015 and included in the list of the Interior Ministry of the most dangerous fugitives
At dawn, personnel from the Reggio Calabria Flying Squad, supported by staff from the Central Operations Department of the Central Anti-Crime Department and the Vibo Valentia Flying Squad, were arrested in Santa Domenica di Ricati (VV) the fugitive CREA Domenico, born in Cinquefrondi (RC) the 4.5.1982, head of the mafia consortium operating in Rizziconi and surrounding areas, connected and related to the powerful family Alvaro di Sinopoli, a fugitive from 2015 when he was struck by a precautionary measure for the crimes of association mafia, extortion and other as a result of a sentence in first instance sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment issued by the Court of Palmi.
Since that date Domenico CREA has been struck by numerous restrictive measures for mafia association and extortion and has been definitively condemned, the 4.4.2019, for 21 years of imprisonment.
The investigation aimed at capturing the fugitive was initiated by the Flying Squad over three years ago with the collaboration of the Central Operational Service and under the direction of the Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Reggio Calabria and was intensified following the capture of Domenico's brother Giuseppe, made by the Reggio Calabria Flying Squad the 29.01.2016, following which Domenico CREA assumed the role of undisputed leader of the criminal consortium of Rizziconi.
Yesterday evening, following observation services supported by highly sophisticated technological equipment, there was the certainty of the presence of the fugitive inside a small villa in Santa Domenica where he was arrested in the early morning today.
The fugitive was in the company of his wife and two younger daughters and was found in possession of 5.000 euro in cash.
The position of two spouses who own the property made available to the fugitive's family is being examined.
