State Police and Autostrade per l'Italia in schools to raise young people's awareness of respecting correct driving behaviour

The initiative will affect 200 schools and over 12.000 students. The advert for the campaign in collaboration with the State Police and the High Patronage of the President of the Republic is also back in cinemas.

The commitment of the State Police and Autostrade per l'Italia continues to promote road safety thanks to a project dedicated to students attending the last three years of secondary schools.

The initiative was born in continuity with the summer campaign on road safety "Don't close your eyes, road safety concerns you too”, which brings together the State Police and Autostrade per l'Italia and for the first time with the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, which aims to make young people especially reflect on the importance of the high data of road victims. The objective is to take up the key messages of the campaign by addressing young people under 20 through the involvement of 200 secondary schools located in the territories crossed by the Autostrade per l'Italia network.

The project includes an interactive path, live events and finally a contest, in which purchase vouchers for educational and technological material will be up for grabs, and will involve around 2023 students from October 2024 to May 12.000.

Through the interactive path on a dedicated website, students will be able to delve deeper into issues related to road safety and correct driving behavior through personalized quizzes, aimed at making them understand the importance of the "zero road accidents" objective.

During the school year, students will meet road safety specialists, with live meetings in schools together with the Traffic Police, Autostrade per l'Italia, and testimonials such as the Paralympic champion Ambra Sabatini. At the end of the course the children will have the opportunity to actively participate in the educational campaign by creating their own slogan on the topic of road safety.

"The constant commitment to raise awareness among young people on the topic of road safety – states the CEO of Autostrade per l'Italia Roberto Tomasi –  it is a key element that sees the synergy with the world of school in this phase, to give children the opportunity to increase awareness of the risks of driving and promote virtuous behaviour. Over 4,6 million users travel on our motorways every day, which is why it is important to work with conviction and with all the means available to reduce accident levels. Young people must be aware of the risks they may encounter on the roads: our duty, together with the State Police, is to direct them towards conscious driving".

"Unfortunately, road accidents are still the leading cause of death for young people under 30.”- declares Filiberto Mastrapasqua – Director of the Traffic Police Service “What is unfortunately often underestimated, especially among young people, is the real danger one runs when one adopts incorrect behavior on the road such as driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and the concrete risk to which one is exposed. your own life and that of others. The relative perception of risk probably depends on young age and perhaps also on imprudent habits. And this is why the State Police invests the resources available every day in checks and in combating incorrect behaviour, dedicating itself with passion to prevention and to the numerous road education campaigns with which it promotes the culture of safe and responsible driving; in fact, prevention, especially in schools, is the key to spreading responsible conduct and behavior among the new generations on the road as in life. The campaign with ASPI is a further excellent opportunity to achieve the objectives pursued. "

At the same time as the educational project, the second flight of the commercial on road safety will also go on air, with the participation of the actor Giacomo Giorgio and the director Carmine Elia, both known for the successful series Mare Fuori. The campaign will be relaunched in Italian cinemas and in the main online and paper newspapers.
