State Police. "POISON" operation

The State Police of the Cyber Security Operations Center of the Pescara Postal Police conducted an operation called "POISON", coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court of L'Aquila, for the dissemination and possession of child pornography material that led to the identification and reporting of 7 minors.

The investigation, triggered by the CNCPO (National Center for the Fight against Online Child Pornography) of the Postal and Communications Police Service of Rome, originates from a report by the Childhood Emergency Service 114, relating to sharing, on social groups, as well as child pornography content, including stickers / memes of a zoophilic, necrophilic, scat, splatter nature, as well as extreme violence, apology for Nazism / fascism, extreme sexual acts and mutilations, acts of cruelty towards humans and animals.

Gruesome images and videos of innocent victims whose pain, instead of shaking their consciences, was the object of ridicule, fun and sharing by the group of teenagers.

The Postal Police investigators, with painstaking work, analyzed over 85.000 messages in 5 different social groups, in order to identify the authors.

Following the outcome of the Operation, which involved, in the executive phase, also the Cyber Security Operations Centers of the Postal Police of Puglia, Lazio, Lombardy and Campania, 7 minors, aged between 13 and 15 years, between which a girl, responsible for having received and sent, on various social groups, various images of children, even three or four years old, victims of sexual abuse.

Investigators are still examining the positions of a further 22 minors who limited themselves to sending "Memes", for possible measures to protect them, given the cultural and educational disvalue that emerged, also with the intervention of social services in support of the children and their families.

Today's operation confirmed a rampant phenomenon among the very young, who often in social contexts trivialize terrible events of the past or show absolute indifference to violence and rape, even towards very young children; sometimes there is a competition to see who poses the most contemptuous or truculent image, in order to amaze, under the banner of exaggeration.

The invitation of the Postal Police and the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office is to acquire awareness and responsibility for their actions also on social networks, stopping the dissemination of such contents, avoiding re-sending them to other users and contributing to the spread of hatred and violence.

It is also hoped that parents are aware of their role as educators and exercise it with a sense of responsibility, supervising the use of IT tools by children, both to prevent harmful acts against third parties and to avoid legal repercussions. as a consequence of the behavior of their children.
