Piazza Armerina (Enna), «Operation Sfântul Gheorghe», arrested by the State Police a criminal group, made up of subjects, all Romanians, dedicated to robbery in the villa against the elderly and thefts in the city center and in the countryside of the city of mosaics; thwarted yet another planned robbery against an elderly couple.
The State Police of Enna, at the end of an articulated investigative activity, carried out the arrest in flagrante of the crime of a group of subjects residing in the city of mosaics.
The complex investigative activity carried out by the policemen of the Enna mobile squad and by the Police Station of Piazza Armerina made it possible to shed light on a group of unscrupulous Romanian criminals, engaged in robberies in the villa against the elderly and thefts in the city center and in the countryside of the city of mosaics; on the occasion, yet another robbery planned to damage an elderly couple residing in the rural suburbs of Piazza Armerina was foiled.
The investigation, coordinated by the Enna Public Prosecutor's Office, was started to curb a series of predatory crimes that, starting from the last weeks of last November, affected this territory, even with very serious and unusual robberies in homes, consumed in the detriment of elderly and therefore very vulnerable people.
