Postal Police warns: cases of soliciting children through online games are on the rise

As part of the activities to combat online child pornography, the Postal and Communications Police Department of Florence has recorded a growing increase in soliciting crimes against minors through the use of online games, on platforms that to date count millions of users.

It has been ascertained that the methods of soliciting usually take place through video game chats, initially conducted within groups in order to guarantee the trust of the participating children, and then move to other private messaging platforms characterized by explicit sexual content.

During the investigation it emerged that the perpetrators of the illegal conduct described above, in order to obtain video files and nude photos of their minor interlocutors, have sometimes offered the latter top-ups useful for purchasing ccdd skins - game updates that they allow an improvement of the graphics - audio and of other services that facilitate the player to advance in the game.
