Online child pornography operation: 9 people reported

The Postal Police, has completed a complex and delicate investigation with the report of 9 people, for the crimes of disclosure, transfer, possession of child pornography and for instigation to aggravate crime.

The investigation activity originated from the analysis carried out on the mobile phone of a subject searched for similar facts on which chats, images and videos of a child pornographic nature were found, with the involvement of children at a very young age.

At the end of the investigation, conducted on the main social networks, the Florence Postal Police identified the subjects who for various reasons held or exchanged child pornography images and videos for which the Deputy Prosecutor dr. Luca Tescaroli issued the search decrees against the suspects, making it possible to block the progressive spread of the participants in the group.

In the chat they exchanged advice on how to evade the investigation activities of the Postal Police and were very active and eager to get hold of increasingly bloody child pornography images and videos with babies, children and adolescents.

Some comments were of the following phrase "I took your number from the telegram group", "there are a lot of new people and not in the group", "what video do you have?", "... ... they will be 12 years old, the youngest it has 5 like ... "," Send all the pedo videos you have ".

The searches, coordinated by the Child Protection Center of the Postal Police Service of Rome, were carried out in Tuscany, Campania, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio and Sicily.

The most senior of the group has just turned 55, the youngest is 19.

Dozens of mobile phones and computers were seized, from whose computer searches important findings emerged, both in relation to the possession and exchange of child pornography, and in order to belong to the various groups on social networks used for the transfer of the aforementioned material.

Experts from the Postal Police are currently carrying out in-depth analyzes of all the media seized in order to acquire computer evidence and verify the involvement of other subjects, as well as the area of diffusion of the phenomenon. And by analyzing the phone of one of the searches, the presence of Telegram channels emerged where, in order to access child pornography, it is necessary to first pay 15 euros per channel to be admitted.

To counter the phenomenon, the importance is highlighted for all users to report any illegal content found on the web by contacting the Postal and Communications Police Service, both through the PS Online Commissariat (where guidelines and useful tips are proposed to contain risks present on the net) and through the different Sections and Departments of Postal Police present throughout the national territory.
