Traffic Police: weekend of 19 - 21 August: heavy traffic for the first returns

Possible inconveniences along the SS 16, in the territory of the Municipality of Vasto (CH), for the musical event "Jova Beach Party"

Viabilità Italia met in view of the beginning of the next weekend of 19 - 21 August 2022 in which particularly intense traffic volumes are expected due to the first returns of holidaymakers: red dot from the afternoon of Friday 19 August and for the whole end week, with limitation of the circulation of heavy vehicles on Saturday 20 August (from 08.00 to 16.00) and Sunday 21 August (from 07.00 to 22.00).

There are also possible inconveniences to traffic in the province of Chieti and in particular along the A14 and SS 16 due to the musical event "Jova Beach Party" to be held along the coast of the Municipality of Vasto, on the evenings of 19 and 20 August 2022 .

The expected turnout of several thousand people made it necessary to temporarily change traffic on the SS 16, in the territory of the aforementioned Municipality, with the establishment of a traffic ban for vehicles over 7.5 t from 10.00 on 19 and 20 August and until needs cease, coinciding with the end of the outflow, in the stretch between Km 508 + 700 and Km 522 + 400, in both directions. In addition, again from 10.00 on 19 and 20 August and until needs cease, the SS 16 will be passable only in a southerly direction starting from the intersection with via Trave (Km 516 + 900) up to the roundabout with the intersection with via Grasceta; the lane of the SS 16 heading north will, in that stretch, be inhibited from vehicular traffic. In order to facilitate the outflow of participants at the end of the event from 23.30 pm on the two days of the concert and until needs cease, the total circulation of the SS 16 will be inhibited, in both directions, from Km 514 + 300 to Km 522 + 400, with the exception of cycles and motorcycles which, when exiting the dedicated parking lots, can take the SS 16 at km 516 + 900 heading north.

For those who move to that quadrant or for those who need to cross that area, alternative itineraries are suggested below:

north-south section: (vehicles leaving the A14 "Vasto Nord" motorway exit or coming from the SS 16 and heading south):

  • continue in the direction of Vasto along the SP 157 called San Lorenzo, and then take the SP 181 in the direction of San Salvo.

south-north section: (vehicles leaving the A14 "Vasto Sud" motorway exit or coming from the SS 650 and / or the SS 16 and heading north):

  • continue along the SS 650 in the direction of San Salvo along via Trignina - via Sandro Pertini - via San Rocco and then reconnect to the SP 181. In case of any congestion or problems along this alternative road network, traffic could be diverted, at the height from Sant'Antonio, along the Istoniense ring road towards Vasto.
