This is not love”, the campaign against violence against women of the State Police in Caivano

Starting today, until Monday 4 September, the State Police will be present in the green park of Caivano with the camper symbol of the campaign "This is not love”, a permanent initiative launched in 2016 on the issue of gender-based violence.

"…This is not love” is the slogan that for years the State Police has chosen to link to its project against violence against women, choosing to meet the victims and all the citizens who can help them, breaking the wall of silence and isolation.

A campaign that engages the Police Headquarters of all the provinces of Italy throughout the year in initiatives of various kinds (events, conferences, debates, meetings) aimed at raising awareness on the delicate issue of physical, psychological and economic violence and digital against women.

The camper initiative therefore has a double objective: to create direct contact (even simply informative and guaranteeing anonymity) between women and a team of specialized operators ready to collect requests for help and raise citizens' awareness on issues that involve everyone without distinction.

The State Police is thus present in various social contexts, and also in particularly difficult places, with its constant commitment that did not stop even during the pandemic period, because the lockdown could have exacerbated situations of domestic violence and made it even more their emergence is difficult. The presence and distribution of information material, in fact, therefore continued - in compliance with the rules on social distancing - in the markets and supermarkets, the only places frequented by the public at the time, especially by women.

In these days, a team of specialized operators from the Naples Police Headquarters made up of personnel from the Anti-Crime Division, the Health Office, the Flying Squad, the Complaints Office of the General Prevention Office and the Afragola Police Station will meet potential victims in Caivano and all possible witnesses of acts of violence to provide any useful support and give information on protection tools, also in a deterrent as well as repressive key.

On this occasion, an information brochure "This is not love" will also be distributed which contains stories of women who have found the courage to say "enough" to violence and of policemen who have been able to listen to them; a testimony of the constant commitment of the State Police to combat a phenomenon that represents a serious violation of human rights, an issue constantly monitored by the Observatory for safety against discriminatory acts whose personnel will be present in Caivano together with that of the Naples Police Headquarters .
