Russia: Frigate "Admiral Essen" begins its return journey to the base of Sevastopol

   

The representative of the Russian Black Sea fleet, Captain Vjacheslav Trukhachev, announced that the Russian Frigate Admiral Essen set off to return to the base of Sevastopol through the Mediterranean Sea.

"The most advanced frigate of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Essen, began its return to Sevastopol after completing its mission as part of the Russian Navy's operations in the Mediterranean, where the ship had been stationed since last 11 July ”, explained Captain Trukhachev. Admiral Essen, employed in operations in Syria against the Islamic State (IS), is the second of the three frigates that are part of the Russian Navy's Project 11356.

The ship was built at Yantar's yards and launched the 7 June 2016, to be part of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
