Libya to vote on 10 December after the Paris summit. Macron thanked Italy

Macron defined it as a historic meeting, the one that took place today in Paris between the parts that divide the territory in the tortured Libya.

With a handshake, a smiling Emmanuel Macron received the commitment of the 4 Libyan leaders gathered at the Elysée to work together for the political and presidential elections on 10 December next. "We are committed, this is the beginning of the agreement signed and read aloud in the Elysée Hall, to work constructively with the UN to organize credible and peaceful elections and then respect the results of the elections". Prime Minister al Sarraj, Marshal Haftar, the President of the House of Representatives Aguila Salah, and the President of the Council of State, Khaled al-Meshri signed.

Macron then mentioned Italy: "I want to greet the exemplary commitment" of Italy on Libya, congratulating for the "work" done together with the government of Rome, the French leader also recalled "the important migration crisis" our country.

The commitment sees as guarantors the five permanent member countries of the UN Security Council (United States, China, France, Great Britain, Russia), Italy, and then the countries Egypt, Tunisia, Chad and the regional actors Emirati , Qatar, Kuwait, Turkey, Algeria and Morocco.
