School: the tenth edition of "Honest in Sport" kicks off

It was held today in the presence of the Minister of Education Patricio Bianchi, the presentation online of tenth edition of "Honest in Sport", the national competition, which takes place every year since 2012, aimed at female students and students of secondary schools. The initiative is promoted by Giulio Onesti Foundation and from CONI, In collaboration with the Ministry of Education andInstitute for Sports Credit and with the support of International Olympic Committee

At the event, moderated by Novella Calligaris, also attended by the President of the Giulio Onesti Foundation, Franco Carraro, the President of CONI, Giovanni Malago, and the Secretary General of CONI, Carlo Morati

The competition aims to spread the culture of legality in sports, educating young people to active citizenship and respect for the rules, fighting all forms of violence and discrimination and enhancing the importance of sport as a tool for inclusion and social cohesion

"The culture of legality and sport are two complementary aspects of education - declares the Minister of Education, Patricio Bianchi -. I am grateful to the organizers of this competition intended for girls and boys of secondary schools, which this year is dedicated to a fundamental theme in the action of the Ministry: the fight against bullying and cyberbullying. This initiative represents an excellent example of institutional collaboration, a joint action that looks at the training of our young people so that they are citizens respectful of the rules, of their well-being, of others ". 

For each edition a different theme is proposed, to be developed according to two categories: the sector music videowhich involves the production of a piece of music and an original video with a maximum duration of 3 minutes, and the sector storieswith the production of a short video lasting no more than one minute. The 2022 edition focuses attention on theme of the importance of sport in combating bullying in all its forms, including those manifested through digital platforms

The selection of the videos received is divided into two phases: a voteonline, through the social channels of the Foundation, which is followed by the evaluation by a commission composed of representatives of the Ministry of Education and the Foundation itself. There is a special prize for the two winning teams (12 students and two accompanying teachers): the opportunity to attend the most important event of the year in the aquatic field, the 36th edition of the European Swimming Championships, which will take place in Rome from 11 to 21 August 2022. 

The Giulio Onesti Foundation, precisely with the aim of enhancing sport and its central importance in the educational and civic training of the new generations, has involved thousands of schools and a total of over one million female students in the various editions.
