Competition for schools: the winning student will illustrate his work at the international meeting of the fraternity, on June 10 in St. Peter's Square

The Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara and the President of the "Fratelli tutti" Foundation, Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, today signed the Memorandum of Understanding at the Ministry "Making young people aware of issues related to peace, dialogue, safeguarding the planet and to fraternity". The objective of the Agreement is to carry out joint initiatives in schools of all levels, in respect of autonomy, for the promotion of the values ​​of peace, solidarity, protection of the environment, in view of the "International meeting of fraternity", which will take place in Piazza St. Peter's on June 10th.

Among the projects carried out by the Foundation, the "Fraternity Contest", intended for primary and secondary schools. The institutes that have joined this year have been proposed to carry out in-depth study and study courses, made up of meetings, readings, film and documentary viewings, class debates, dedicated to the theme of fraternity, in the wake of the encyclical "Fratelli tutti" . On this basis, the students were invited to create works of various types to represent the theme of fraternity: graphic creations, videos, drawings, prose or poetic texts, research, considerations, artifacts, etc.

A jury made up of representatives of the MIM and of the organization of the Meeting will choose between 20 and 30 works. The representatives of the selected schools will meet on the morning of the event in Rome and will vote for the most representative work of the Meeting. The winning student will be invited to present his or her work during the event in St. Peter's Square.
