The Ministry of Education yesterday presented to the trade unions the Ordinance relating to the allocation of the fund for additional staffing facilities for the school year 2020/2021 provided for in the Relaunch decree to meet the needs related to the health emergency. These are additional teachers and ATAs that will allow us to guarantee the recovery in presence and in safety.
The resources of the fund that allows to increase the workforce will be assigned to the Regional School Offices which will be able to activate, for the school year 2020/2021, additional temporary positions of teachers and ATA. Priority will be given to nursery school and the first cycle, with particular reference to primary school.
The economic resources, equal to about one billion euros, will be shared between the Regional School Offices by decree of the Minister of Education, in agreement with the Minister of Economy and Finance, on the basis of two criteria: the number of pupils present on the territory and the requests made by the regional school offices that are assessing the needs of the schools.
This measure also goes in the direction of derogating from the minimum and maximum number of pupils per class to avoid the formation of overcrowded classes.
