On Thursday morning, at Milan Linate Airport, the Carabinieri of the Pioltello Company arrested a Moroccan citizen cl. 1995, recipient of an order for the application of a precautionary measure in prison issued by the GIP of the Ordinary Court of Milan for the crimes of kidnapping for the purpose of extortion and aggravated injuries, tracked down in the Murcia region last November 28 by the Spanish Police in execution of a European Arrest Warrant issued by the Italian Judicial Authority and landed at this airport with the Iberia flight IB3250, coming from Madrid, escorted by personnel of the International Police Cooperation Service.
The provision in question stems from the kidnapping for the purpose of extortion which took place in Pantigliate (MI) on 8 August 2021 against a compatriot cl. 1998, who had reported that he had been deceived by his roommate to a farmhouse, where waiting for him were, in addition to today's arrest, also two Italian citizens, both recipients, on 10 August 2021, of detention of accused of a crime for the same proceeding, who, in order to receive information regarding a consignment of drugs, tied up, beat, threatened with a firearm and, finally, locked up the victim in a non-functioning cold room, who he managed to free himself after two days and asked for help from the police.
The investigative activity, conducted by the Operative Section of the NOR of the Compagnia di Pioltello and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Ordinary Court of Milan VII Department, made it possible to ascertain the responsibilities of the subjects involved and locate the defendant in Iberian land, where he had taken refuge to escape capture.
