The gathering of the State Police Sports Group - "Fiamme Oro" was held yesterday at CONI.

The ceremony took place in the "Hall of Honour", in the presence of the Minister of the Interior Piantedosi, the Minister for Sport and Youth Abodi, the Minister for Disabilities Locatelli, the Chief of Police-General Director of Public Security Pisani, of the President of CONI Malagò, of the President of the Italian Paralympic Committee Pancalli and of numerous personalities from the world of sport.

The initiative celebrated the glorious tradition of the State Police Sports Groups - Fiamme Oro. Born in 1954, with the agreement between the Ministry of the Interior and CONI, the Fiamme Oro is dedicated to the preparation of high profile athletes in 45 sports disciplines which are practiced in 9 national centers and 37 youth sections. They aim to maintain and promote sporting activity at a competitive level, even among young people, to increase the national sporting heritage. Among the institutional purposes of the Fiamme Oro, there is also a project for the promotion of sport and correct lifestyles in the territories: they are the "Gyms of legality", available to children in many areas of the country, to give them new opportunities for growth and training through the values ​​of sport.

Among the numerous prestigious results of its athletes, the 92 Olympic medals since the year of its foundation, the 31 Paralympic medals since 2012 and the 12 absolute world titles from January 2023 to today stand out. 

Films and photos retraced the exploits of the athletes, the expression of a "road map" full of extraordinary sporting feats, which gave prestige to our country, allowing the Tricolor to fly on the podium of the most important world competitive competitions.

From the first meeting held in 2008 to today, the Fiamme Oro Sports Group has grown rich by enlisting Paralympic athletes, 14 of whom have become full-fledged policemen this year.

During the evening, the State Police Brass Band performed the National Anthem.
