Disturbances to traffic caused by bad weather

The critical situation remains on the national road network due to the numerous storm phenomena that have caused flooding and landslides, causing slowdowns in vehicular flow, in some cases to the point of blocking traffic, with the closure of the affected arteries.

In particular, the following critical issues arise:

TUSCANY

  • A11 Florence-Pisa motorway. Roadway reduction implemented in Prato Ovest (Km 17+000) towards Pisa, where traffic is driven in the overtaking lane due to monitoring of the Fosso Bagnolo at risk of overflowing;
  • SGC FI-PI-LI main road. It is still closed in the section between the A12 Genoa-Rosignano connection (Km 69+200) and the Lavoria junction (Km 61+800) towards Florence, and in the section between Lavoria (Km 61+800) and Colle Salvetti ( Km 67+300) in the direction of Livorno, due to the overflows that occurred in the last few hours;
  • SS12 Abetone and Brennero. The section between Mozzano (Km 44+000) and Chifenti (Km 46+400) remains closed due to a landslide;
  • SS62 Della Cisa. Closed in Pontremoli (Km 51+900-Km 52+780), due to landslide.

LIGURIA

  • SS586 Aveto Valley. Closures remain in Borzonasca (Km 57+900) and in Rezzoaglio (Km 30+800), due to landslides.

LOMBARDY

  • SS45 Ter Gardesana Occidentale. Closed in Villanova sul Clisi (Km 0+000-Km 4+000), due to flooding.

VENETO

SS 51 of Alemagna. The section between Vittorio Veneto and the junction for the Fadalto motorway toll booth for the A/27 (Km 20+400) is closed due to landslide danger;

SS 52 Carnica. Closed at Km 76+500 due to landslide.

Strong winds continue to be recorded on numerous road and motorway sections. It is therefore recommended to proceed with the utmost caution, especially with vans, tarpaulins and caravans. Due to strong winds, the section of the A24 Rome-Teramo motorway between Assergi (Km 117+000) and Colledara-San Gabriele (Km 137+000) was closed to these vehicles.

As regards railway traffic, the following limitations remain active:

  • Bologna Florence conventional line: traffic suspended in the section between Vaiano and Prato, due to adverse weather conditions;
  • Pontassieve-Faenza line: traffic interrupted near Borgo San Lorenzo (FI), due to damage caused by bad weather;
  • Terni Sulmona line: traffic suspended at Antrodoco, due to adverse weather conditions. Replacement buses have been set up on site.

Viabilità Italia, which continues to constantly monitor the practicability conditions of the road network affected by the aforementioned critical issues, draws the attention of those who will be traveling in the areas affected by the bad weather, advising them to inform themselves in advance about the expected and current traffic conditions.

How to find out about traffic conditions.

Always up-to-date traffic news is available through the CCISS channels (free number 1518, websites www.cciss.it and mobile.cciss.it), Rai-Isoradio broadcasts, Onda Verde news on the three Radio-Rai networks and on RAI Teletext, as well as through the Variable Message Panels along the motorway routes.

To find out about the state of traffic on the Anas road network, it is also possible to use the “GO” application or call the single number 800.841.148.

Real-time information on the motorway network under concession, on road conditions and traffic along the various routes is available on the various channels activated by the individual concessionaire companies (websites, dedicated numbers, apps, etc.). Other useful information for the trip can be found on the website www.aiscat.it.
