Nicastri, president of Aidr: in Italy there are already 8 million workers in smart working

The online event "Smart working, the new revolution" organized by Italian Digital Revolution - AIDR (www.aidr.it), association for the dissemination of digital culture, will be held on November 5th, in the presence of Prof. Domenico De Masi, the most famous sociologist of work in Italy, professor emeritus at Sapienza and former dean of the faculty of communication sciences; a true pioneer of “agile work”. During the event, live on the Facebook page @AIDR, the impact that the Coronavirus emergency has had on the world of work and the reasons that have so far prevented the spread of a more productive, ecological way of working in Italy will be illustrated , less expensive and stressful.

“Just as the transition from shops to factories took a few decades - explains Domenico De Masi, professor emeritus of Sociology of work at Sapienza University of Rome - so that from the office to smart working is making its way. At the beginning of 2020 it seems that only 570 thousand Italians worked in smart working. In early March, with the isolation imposed by Covid-19, they suddenly became millions. Even today, many are scrambling to run because the pace of the assembly line is slow to disappear, but smart working comes at the right time to facilitate their release ".

The pandemic, therefore, unexpectedly accelerated this process which was continuing slowly due to a cultural delay of companies and public administrations. But how is Italy facing this digital revolution and how will it have to adapt?

“The health emergency has brought with it a revolution in the way of working. In this context and to win the challenge of the work of the future, technological platforms and training play an important role. We want to make ourselves available on the AIDR portal to support all those teams stuck in a new and not very productive routine due to Covid19 with the most important experts. In the next few days an eBook "SMART WORKING: the 5 keywords" will be released to help you take the future of the company in hand and be more aware thanks to an experimentation already started and the opportunity to transform it into a consolidated business practice ".

In addition to Domenico De Masi, the shareholders of Aidr, Alessandro Bacci, director of institutional affairs, personnel and information systems of the Lazio Region, Sergio Alberto Codella, labor lawyer and Gennaro Petrone, chartered accountant and statutory auditor will speak. Each one will bring his experience and question marks on a topic that is so current but which needs certain answers. Paola Mansi, of the Agency for Digital Italy, introduces and moderates the event.
