At least 50 migrants from the Diciotti have disappeared into thin air. The CEI, "they did not flee, they were not detained"

The CEI had resolved the intriguing question of the Diciotti ship and had welcomed 144 migrants, most of them in the "Mondo Migliore" reception center in Rocca di Papa. On the evening of 28 August, 100 men and 8 women arrived, only to be destined for to reach, according to a program, the 20 dioceses foreseen scattered around Italy. But of the 87 that are missing, more than 50 have disappeared. Two, expected in Bologna, never arrived. Four others, guests in Frosinone, immediately left. Very few, therefore, tasted yesterday the ice cream sent as a gift by Pope Francis. As early as three days after their arrival, in small groups, the refugees began to leave voluntarily.

The news was given by the Undersecretaries Candiani and Molteni, "40 have already moved away from the 144 immigrant adults entrusted to the Cei or the center of Messina"You're from the Comoro Islands, the rest of Eritrea. But the bill went up soon to 50 and, as the Viminale says, it seems to have started to "be more consistent". From Messina, where are located those destined to Ireland (20) and Albania (other 20) have disappeared already in six.

Caritas, in this regard, is keen to point out that it is not an escape because they are not detained.

La replica of Salvini, "more than 50 were so "in need" of protection that they decided to walk away and disappear! But how, had I not kidnapped them?". It was particularly hard, during the On Wave broadcast on La7, also the Minister of Transport, Danilo Toninelli"the flight of these 50 people is very serious, if Europe had been in solidarity it would not have happened".

However, it remains a comforting fact, none of the 8 women who arrived in Rocca di Papa ran away. They had been victims of violence in Libya and accepted the protection program. Don Aldo Buonaiuto of the Giovanni XXIII community, who knows Salvini well and who helped him in the Rocca di Papa operation, also expressed his opinion on the matter. "Eritreans always do this. Time to refresh and leave, because they are in a hurry to reach relatives in Germany, Sweden. They have faced a hellish journey. And they trust little, they are afraid of being brought back. That's why they leave".

From the first talks with the cultural mediators they had expressed their intention to leave Rome and Italy to reach Germany, Sweden and France, where a network of local communities ready to receive them is active. The police look for them mainly on board trains bound for Northern Europe, the easiest way to try to cross the border beyond the Alps. Or on lorry on board of which their trip may have been organized by friends or relatives. But wherever they will be, if checked, they will be destined to be sent back to Italy according to the Dublin Convention.

Those young Eritreans, who fled their homes three years ago, are also missing from the appeal. They said they first tried the road to Israel through Egypt and the South of Sudan, but then, rejected, they were forced to go back and then fall back on the rubber boats for Italy departing from Libya.
