Third meeting between Trump and Kim on the border of the two Koreas

The president of the United States, Donald # Trump, met the North Korean leader, #Kim Jong Un, in the so-called Joint Security Area (JSA), patrolled by soldiers of both Koreas, warmly shaking hands and expressing both hopes for peace , thus sealing the third meeting between the two leaders in just over a year, raising hopes for a resumption of nuclear talks.

Once in place, Trump crossed the military demarcation line that for years has represented the border with North Korea, becoming the first American president to set foot in the solitary country.

Moments later Kim, along with Trump, crossed the same line to enter the part of South Korea.

Donald Trump, addressing the journalists present, said "It's a great day for the world", he was echoed by the words of Kim who in a calm tone, after having expressed the will to work with America for a new future, he invited the American president to visit his capital, Pyongyang.

Trump arrived in South Korea on Saturday for a meeting with President Moon Jae-in, attended an 20 Group summit in Osaka, and it is here that the American president launched a proposal to meet Kim, a proposal that is was immediately accepted by the North Korean leader.

Trump and Kim first met in Singapore in June last year where they both agreed to improve relations between the two countries and work for the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. In February of this year the second summit in Hanoi, Vietnam, failed because it failed to reach an agreement on the request of the United States asking North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons.
