After the agreement signed between the British group Virgin and some aerospace companies that provides for two long-term programs with joint investments by the Virgin Group and Sitael: one with Virgin Orbit for launch activities and the other with Virgin Galactic and Altec for suborbital flights, from Puglia we return to talk about new frontiers, aerospace technologies, drones, cyber security and smart cities.
Innovative technologies are therefore at the center of the meeting underway in Ostuni, the global #space economic workshop "organized by the Aerospace Technology District (Dta), the Italian Space Agency (Asi) and the European (Esa) entitled"Space cybersecurity for smart cities"Which sees the participation of numerous experts in the sector.
Giuseppe #Acierno, president of the DTA, during his speech explained: "Today we are here with the European and Italian space agencies, with which we have a functional contract to set up project activities concerning the use of satellites, satellite data and in particular their safety.". Then referring to the future landscape, Acierno explained that "Cities will change because data and their use in real time in a connected way will allow us to plan our trips from home, the use of means of transport, the impact on the environment, on waste, on large infrastructures, ability to intervene in the event of a disaster. It is a continuous discovery that sees many companies, and not just structures dedicated to research, involved in these dynamics".
The intervention of the Minister of Defense, Elisabetta #Trenta, expressed her appreciation by videoconference for the progress that is being made both in research and in experimentation in the aerospace sector and for the work of the Aerospace Technology District that groups companies and research institutes and which is based in Brindisi, at the Research Citadel.
