The family Act begins, a progressive allowance for children up to 18 years of age

The Council of Ministers yesterday, late in the evening, approved the delegation bill: "Measures to support and enhance the family". 

The Minister of the Family is enthusiastic Elena Bonetti from Italia Viva who commented: "It is a historic moment for our country, for the first time it invests in humanity, to change the lives of families for the better: from here Italy can start again, it is a choice of hope and courage, a long awaited help and attention". The minister then points out that the universal allowance (as the subsidy will be called) will follow a parliamentary path through the vote on the Delrio bill already launched in Parliament. 

The universal allowance will be paid for all households with one or more children, according to the Isee indicators (in progressive form) starting from the seventh month of pregnancy up to the age of 18 and from the second child onwards has an increase of 20 %, without age limits for disabled children.

Tax deductions are also provided for expenses dedicated to children's education, from sports to music, from books to school trips. Paid leave to assist a sick child but also to participate in interviews with professors. For fathers, 10 days of leave will be provided, without foreclosures in relation to marital or family status. But above all, help mothers, to encourage their work and the harmonization of times. To do this, there will be deductions for babysitters and maids, but also bonuses for school fees for nurseries and kindergartens up to 6 years. Flexible forms of work are also encouraged for parents with children aged under 14, with bonuses also for employers who implement policies aimed at promoting full harmonization between private life and work. Therefore, deductions for university expenses are foreseen for the older ones, from books to rents. And for young couples under 35 there will be deductions for the rent of the residential property.
