La Duecento and La Cinquecento are back at the Pellegrini Trophy 2023

Appointment with the great offshore sailing in Caorle

A few days after the conclusion of a successful edition of The Eighty, a regatta that is becoming more and more popular among those approaching the world of offshore sailing in the Adriatic, it is time for the Santa Margherita Nautical Club to put the bow towards the two key appointments of the season.

“2023 opened with a beautiful edition of The Eighty, with the participation of many new crews, some of which have chosen to race at the next one as well The thirteenth century. " declares Gian Alberto Marcorin, CNSM President “We are working on an intense program in view of our most historic regattas, in particular for The Cinquecento, which is approaching half a century of life. There are really many sailors and boats that have sailed the Adriatic waters in recent years and many who are preparing to do so for the first time. Our commitment, for everyone, is to offer exciting events on land and competitive ones at sea.".

The thirteenth century e The sixteenth century Pellegrini Trophy, organized in collaboration with the Darsena dell'Orologio and with the sponsorship and contribution of the City of Caorle, both stages of the Italian Offshore Championship of the Italian Sailing Federation and of the Masserotti Uvai Trophy, will take place respectively from 29 April to 1 May and from 28 May to 3 June.

Confirmed the much loved routes along the treacherous Adriatic waters with crossing of the Croatian islands, which over the years have left an indelible memory in thousands of sailors: from Caorle in Sansego passing through Bachelor's Degree for La Duecento and from Caorle Tremiti Islands passing through Sansego in the case of The sixteenth century Pellegrini Trophy.

The twenty-ninth edition of La Duecento supported by the sponsor Castello beer, this year will exceptionally start on Saturday 29 April to make the most of the holidays and will end on Monday 1 May.

With just over two weeks to go before the start, there are over thirty boats registered, coming from all over the Adriatic and from Austria, Germany and Croatia.

The largest fleet this year will also be that of the XTutti category, where in addition to the aficionados of the competition, there will be new boats.

In the X2 category reserved for only two skippers, there will be no shortage of Minis and Multihulls from the northern seas among the participants.

The record to beat at La Duecento belongs to E1, Vor70 of the Austrian Aegyd Pengg, with a time of 26h 31′ and 54” set in 2010.

After four weeks, the forty-ninth edition of the Cinquecento Trofeo Pellegrini will take place from 28 May to 3 June, which this year, in accordance with its origins, will leave on a Sunday from the city's fishing port.

Among the members one month from the start, there is a clear preference for the X2 category.

Title Sponsor 2023 of La Cinquecento is Pellegrini Impresa di Costruzioni, a company specialized in the industrial and civil construction sector, which uses new construction technologies with innovative materials and sophisticated techniques.

The Main Sponsor 2023 of La Duecento is Birra Castello, part of a group that today is the leading Italian-owned beer producer with more than 1,2 million hectoliters sold and a turnover of approximately 100 million euros.

The 2023 Official Sponsor of the La Duecento and La Cinquecento regattas is Murphy&Nye, a historic clothing brand linked from its origins to the world of sailing, which has always been active in all the most important international sporting events in the sector.
