Transport School, De Micheli: "Capacity threshold remains at 80%".

The availability on the part of the MIT and MI to operational - regional and provincial - and coordination tables to address the most critical situations. While the capacity threshold remains at 80%.

These are the main conclusions that emerged from the table convened yesterday by the minister Paola De Micheli during which the LPT associations presented the results of the monitoring in the last period, according to which the use of public transport by students averaged levels below 80% of the filling, recording a value approximately 55,60% of the permitted capacity.

The criticalities encountered, writes the Ministry of Transport, are limited to the context of some of the metropolitan cities during the peak hours of the service, in particular at the exit of schools. In the first weeks of the reopening of the schools, public transport, punctually respecting the government guidelines, represented a safe environment, thanks to the sanitation and sanitation operations, the air exchange on board the vehicle and the medium, short times, duration of the trip.

Now we will work to reduce as much as possible the presence of information asymmetries in order to allow the Tpl operators the appropriate timelines for an adequate programming of the service: the school offices of the Ministry of Education are available to communicate the staggering of entry and exit already adopted and coordinate accordingly with the public transport system, particularly in difficult situations.

No requests have been raised to reduce the capacity of public transport below 80% or for further allocations of resources by the representative associations of local public transport companies, representatives of the Conference of the Regions, Anci and Upi.

Among the issues addressed during the meeting, the regions, the provinces and the municipalities confirmed that they had used all the possibilities provided by the agreement with the government of 30 August, increasing the means for the most requested routes, also resorting to reliance on private individuals and to tourist buses, strengthening the controls by the personnel of the transport companies on the docks and in the parking areas of the vehicles and guaranteeing intervention following critical reports. There Minister De Micheli confirmed that, in agreement with the minister Azzolina, specific (regional and provincial) technical discussions will be facilitated with the territorial representatives of the Ministry of Education to align the demand and supply of transport during peak times, as already experienced during the summer.
