The invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Pacific specified, is to be stigmatized and our solidarity with the Ukrainian people must be factual and concrete. It is equally clear that responses to Russia will have to be swift, incisive and highly deterrent. The hypotheses of reduction or interruption of gas flows, if on the one hand it will weigh heavily on Russia, on the other it will force our country, as declared by the Prime Minister, to seek diversified sources of supply. Alternatives should be envisaged such as liquefied gas from the USA, the use of TAP, the Transmed of Libya and Tunisia and the Green stream of Libya. This crisis, of course, has brought out all the mistakes made in past years with regard to energy policies. We have been hostage to an ideology that not only impoverished the country but made us dependent on Russia. It is undeniable that the sacrifice that will be required of businesses and families will cost a lot, so it is our precise task to seek all forms of protection and safeguarding of the same, avoiding as much as possible an inflationary cycle or worse still economic stagnation.
