“Unica”, the new digital platform for families, students and students will be online from 11 October

Valditara: “An important tool that responds to the concrete needs of families and students: a fundamental stage in our commitment to offering education; more accessible, efficient and future-oriented. An effective use of new technologies to simplify the lives of many citizens"

From Wednesday 11 October Unica, the new platform of the Ministry of Education and Merit announced by the Minister, will be online Joseph Vallettara in Forlì during the inauguration ceremony of the new school year.

Unica was designed to offer, for the first time, a single access point to digital services dedicated to families and students and to facilitate school-family communications. Particular attention is given to the theme of orientation: thanks to new tools, with the tutor teacher, which will allow each student to identify and enhance their talents and which, with the orientation teacher, will give concrete support in identifying the most suitable path suitable for the future of children, whether university or professional.

Single is foreseen by the Simplification Plan for Schools launched in April by the Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara and in implementation of the orientation guidelines approved in December 2022. The platform is governed (or regulated) by a signed Ministerial Decree today by Minister Valditara after the favorable opinion of the Guarantor for the protection of personal data.

“With the launch of Unica we reiterate our commitment to making education more accessible, efficient and future-oriented. This platform was designed together with the main stakeholders of the school with the aim of responding to concrete needs, guaranteeing simplicity and immediacy in the use of services. Its introduction is a fundamental stage in the path towards excellence in Italian education and the strengthening of the school-family alliance”, declared Minister Valditara.

The platform will be available for over 10 thousand state and private schools, involving more than 6,5 million students, approximately 8 million parents, delegates, guardians or parental managers, and more than 1 million people who work in schools every day

By navigating within the platform it will be possible to:

  • consult useful information and data for an informed choice of scholastic and post-scholastic path;
  • benefit in an organic and personalized way from all digital services relating to orientation, enrolments, payments, as well as initiatives in support of the right to education;
  • easily follow the entire school cycle and the main goals achieved through the E-portfolio, a digital document always available to students and families;
  • get in touch with the school tutor and the guidance teacher, the new figures established by the Mim to support families and students when choosing a school path.

Unica is organized into three sections:

  • Orientation, with information and useful tools for choosing the training path and contacting the tutor and the guidance teacher;
  • Experiencing school, to seize all the opportunities of the school panorama;
  • Tools, to simplify the lives of families with innovative services;

Furthermore, the following are available on the platform:

  • data and information on the possibilities offered by the training panorama and the world of work
  • numerous services that enrich the training offer and the school experience in the fields of inclusion, cyber-bullying, civic, food and sports education.
  • Finally, Unica simplifies the relationship between families, schools and the Ministry, facilitating access to measures dedicated to supporting the right to education as well as administrative services such as payment management and crowdfunding.
