Rome, the cobblestones will be removed from 68 roads: starting from via Nazionale

Asphalt instead of cobblestones in Rome. It is not a joke but a necessity for high-speed roads, so the capital city council in August approved the Stonemasonry plan, prepared by a technical table, coordinated by the offices of the mayor Raggi, compound by the Higher Council of Public Works, the Special Archaeological Superintendence and the Capitoline Superintendence.

As reported by Il Messaggero, the works will start between January and February 2020, from via Nazionale. After years of projects and controversy, the important artery that connects Piazza della Repubblica to Larganapoli Square will finally be freed from cobblestones.

The words of the engineer Roberto Botta, deputy director general of the Campidoglio and coordinator of the working table: "The works have already been financed with 5,5 million. The final design will be completed by the end of the year and work will start at the beginning of 2020 ".

After Via Nazionale you will pass on Viale Aventino, where the cobblestones will be eliminated, and on Via del Corso, where instead of the asphalt the pavement will arrive. Botta points out: "These two interventions will be funded in September with a total cost of 6 million".

The works on Viale Aventino are scheduled for October next year, while on Via del Corso we should intervene in January of the 2021.

The Roman sercio will be removed from 68 fast and busy roads, including Via Nazionale, Viale Aventino and Via IV Novembre, and will arrive in 113 vie, mostly in the historic center and pedestrian like Via Condotti.
