Emergency flight from Sardinia for 10 days baby girl

A Falcon 900 plane of the 31st Wing of the Air Force has just completed an emergency flight to save a life-threatening baby girl

The medical transport carried out by the Air Force to save the life of a little girl born just ten days ago in the S. Giovanni Monreale Hospital (CA) ended this afternoon.

The plane, a Falcon 900 of the 31 ° Stormo di Ciampino, transported the child, accompanied by a medical team and both parents, to the Milan Linate airport, thus allowing the subsequent immediate transport by ambulance to the S. Donato Milanese Hospital.

The request for transport was received by the Prefecture of Cagliari at the Situation Room at the Summit of the Air Squad Command, the operations room of the Air Force which has among its tasks also that of organizing and managing this kind of transport throughout the national territory.

Having left the Sardinian city, the aircraft landed around 14:20 at Linate airport (MI), from where the little patient was transferred to the hospital.

Missions of this type require maximum timeliness. Through its flight departments, the Air Force provides vehicles and crews ready to take off at any time to ensure the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger of life, but also of organs and medical teams for transplants.
