Humanitarian flight in favor of a compatriot in serious conditions

The emergency flight was carried out by a Falcon 50 on the Tel Aviv – Turin route

The humanitarian flight carried out by a Falcon 50 aircraft of the 31st Wing of Ciampino on the Tel Aviv - Turin route concluded in the early hours of yesterday afternoon. The urgent transport was carried out at the specific request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) to save the life of one of our compatriots hospitalized at the Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem.

The Falcon 50 boarded the patient at Ben Gurion airport, arrived on site by ambulance, and landed at Turin Caselle airport around 16pm on Saturday 28 October. Assisted on board by a medical team from the San Giovanni Bosco hospital in Turin, as well as a doctor and a healthcare assistant from the Air Force, the patient was subsequently transported by ambulance to the Turin hospital.

The health protocol was activated through intense coordination work between the Flight Office of the Presidency of the Council and the situation room of the Air Force Command, the operations room of the Air Force which has among its tasks also that of organizing and manage this type of intervention in favor of Italian citizens, living in the territory of the Republic or abroad, who find themselves in situations of serious danger.

Requests for flights for humanitarian needs are made to the Prefectures (in the case of citizens residing in Italy) or to the Italian diplomatic and consular representations (in the foreign country where the citizen in danger is), who in turn forward them to the Presidency of Council of Ministers – General Secretariat – Office for State, Government and Humanitarian Flights.
