With reference to our mission in Afghanistan, the overall assessment, particularly in the medium to long term, is certainly not detached from the necessary consultation with the allies, such as NATO and the EU, also in relation to the options that can be defined together with them. as priority missions shared between the sensibilities of the international community and the national interests of our country. These options are also referable to scenarios that see us geographically close and in the forefront of experience and capacity.
It is understood, as is well known, that any re-modulation of our international commitment will have to be approved by Parliament, which is and remains the central element of our democratic system. "
