A new trend that greatly worries the Italian government which has tried to remedy it with a series of bilateral meetings abroad in Tunisia and Libya.

In Tripoli at the end of January there was talk of putting in place a powerful action to control the territory, a concept reaffirmed in Rome three weeks ago between the Minister Piantedosi and the Libyan Interior Minister, Imad Mustafa Trabelsi. The anomalous wave of migrants is reflected in the dossiers of our intelligence apparatuses which in the weekly reports on immigration underline how in Libya, in detention camps but not only, there are 685 irregular migrants ready to leave to land on the Italian coast .
In 2022 there were 104 arrivals, while in the first three months of 2023 there were already 17.592.
